SketchUp – Wrap up house project
• CB Model Pro – Creating Spaceship or Light 3D model

SketchUp
Wrap up House project and upload to Google 3D Warehouse. To prepare your house for the 3D warehouse follow the directions below:

  1. In SketchUp click on File – Export – 3D Model and save the file
  2. Take a screenshot of your house by using the keyboard shortcut keys Apple/Shift/4. Drag the cursor to select the part of your house for a screenshot
  3. Open iPhoto and click on File – Import
  4. Locate your screenshot on the desktop (most likely called Picture 1)
  5. Click on File – Export
  6. Select File Export
  7. Select JPEG from the Kind drop down menu
  8. Select Small as the Size
  9. Click on Export and save the file to your desktop as your name_thumbnail (ex. Kylie_thumbnail)

Add your project to the MSTLA Collection by using the login information below:

  1. Go to http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse
  2. Login with Username: mstlagreenbush@gmail.com and Password: mstla2008
  3. Click on Upload in the upper right hand corner
  4. Browse for the file of your model
  5. Browse for the file of your thumbnail
  6. Title your file with your first name and school name (i.e. Joe @ Pittsburg Middle School)
  7. Describe your house in the description box including what features you added that are environmentally friendly
  8. Visit the collection at: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?uq=04563380461504925067

CB Model Pro
Select one of the build options below when you have completed your house and uploaded it to the 3D Warehouse. The following objects can be viewed at the MSTLA Blog: http://gbtechnologyacademy.edublogs.org/.

  • A Cone to a Lamp
  • A Cylinder to a Spaceship
  • Fine Objects

Second Life (GreenbushGrid)
We will rotate through to Room 2 to work on the new Second Life Greenbush Grid:

  • Navigating
  • Communicating
  • Building
